Tracking Trends
In 2010, our counselors are seeing an increase in higher end homes facing foreclosure due to loss of income and depleted savings. More prime loans are going into foreclosure.
On a better note, a more affordable housing market is making home ownership possible for many people who feared they could not afford their dream.
The Home Ownership Resource Center of Lee County is a Florida non-profit 501(c)3 corporation. As a public/private partnership, our funding comes from both government and private sector sources. Private sector funding allows HORC to help everyone without regard to income.

Home
The Home Ownership Resource Center (HORC) was founded in 1999 as a partnership of residents, lenders, businesses and local government. Today, this partnership remains strong and, because of the current housing crisis, we've expanded our services to include foreclosure prevention and intervention. HORC is a non-profit agency.
Our HUD-certified counselors provide compassionate counseling, information, assistance and education to buyers and homeowners in Southwest Florida. We offer one-on-one counseling as well as specialized triage counseling sessions that allow us to serve more clients than ever before. In 2008, we met with more than 750 clients. In 2009, we are seeing that the need for help continues to be exceptionally large.
HORC is here to help. Start your search today for a better future. Simply click on the links below or the navigation at the top of this page for more information on our services.

Foreclosure Help
With Lee County among the hardest hit in the nation when it comes to foreclosures, HORC shifted its focus to include hands-on help for those who are having trouble paying their mortgage. Our HUD-certified counselors are trained to set up a plan of action tailored especially for you and your situation.
We offer guidance on how to approach your lender to avoid foreclosure. We can also serve as a liaison between you and your lender, and recommend alternatives to the foreclosure process.
