Foreclosure Counseling

The struggle to make a mortgage payment can seem overwhelming for many reasons:       job loss, loss of overtime, unexpected expenses, illness, injury, disability, death and others. At the Home Ownership Resource Center, we encourage every homeowner to become educated on all the options that are available to save their home. There is reason to hope.

Many people wrongly believe that their lender wants to take their homes away through foreclosure. As a general rule, lenders only begin the foreclosure process as a last resort. Many lenders are willing to work with homeowners who are having financial difficulties. But the more house payments missed, the more challenging it becomes to solve the problem. That's why early, informed action is important.

Homeowners can approach their lenders to help solve the problem. There are many things that lenders can do to help resolve a delinquency.
